The Wall Street Journal highlights three new additions to the "ultra-luxury" coffee table book market from Taschen. I have two comments. First: !!!!! Second: even outside of these pricey books, Taschen published some of the heaviest slabs in my 8 months as a book shelver last year. My back still hurts.

I guess the slate or sandstone covers I was considering for a little project I was planning may not be such a great idea then.
There is this awesome coffee table book a local used book store has. Think its called the world of natural curiosities, been leafing through it for the past six months. Wish I had a coffee table.

I've got a coffee table. What I don't have is $1000 to dispose of. Aside from that, I didn't see anything there I'd be interested in enough to blow a grand on. Or even half a grand. It's amazing the prices people will pay, though.

I love beautiful books, but 1,000...wasn't too surprised to see one of the subjects was Yachts.
