Forbidden Fruit: Sex & Religion in the Lives of American Teenagers

Do we really care!

Just an attempt at cashing in on the sex sells marketing theory in my opinion.
Is it all about the money or does someone find it interesting that “Even evangelical teens do it”

No, we don't ;)
If we (speaking as an American) weren't so obsessed with ourselves, religion and so supressed sexually maybe a book like this wouldn't even be written.

Well whatever my 2 cents are worth, what is worse are these people preaching not just abstaining (which is their right), but even telling the kids that condoms don't work and that it's all just liberal lies so when the kids finally have sex, they end up taking great risks since they're unaware of STDs and the risk of pregnancy! That kind of teaching is just plain unethical!

Hi Jakob, I hear where you’re coming from. I just don’t understand why anyone would find it necessary to need a book on the subject. Now the ethical debate on how different people or different groups raise their children is a whole subject on its own, there would have to be enough material in that to make a book, and plenty to raise debate.
I just think it’s silly that someone would think that teenagers are any different to other teenagers just because of their religion.

If someone reads the book and finds something new and interesting there please come back and tell me I’m wrong.

KerryAnne, it’s not an “American” thing, it’s very much the same here in Australia depending on where we look. No doubt this book will sell and make a few dollars; I get the feeling that’s what the author had in mind when he wrote it 
