I think this pretty much sums up the issue. Ellison rants about the common misconception that writers should work for free. A little coarse language involved.
Oh, sorry Jakob. I must have missed that. Sometimes they get past me. I just loved this! He's so spot on and not afraid to open his mouth, eh? I'll go find yours and word you up, 'cause this was awesome.

No problem. It could use many stories that video clip. I love that he's so frank about things. It's a refreshing change from all people who are so careful not to step on sensitive toes.
Ok, so maybe the guy's an asshole. Big deal. It doesn't change in the least the fact that in this clip, on this subject, at this moment in time, he is absolutely, one hundred percent, spot on RIGHT. The issue here is writers getting paid for their work, not whether Ellison is a good guy or not.

I suppose we could have used the title 'not safe for anyone' many times already, but I thought it would be especially pertinent here because in this show Richard and Hans illustrate the many situations in which the C-word is perfectly appropriate.
I posted the same clip about two weeks ago. He's funny that guy. :)

There's a line between "sometimes stepping on toes" and "being a raging arsehole." And he's developed a reputation as the latter.
