Hollywood producer Frank Beddor has rewritten Lewis Carroll. His series, based on the re-imagined Alice, who becomes Alyss in his work, takes the familiar character beyond rabbit holes and looking glasses, extending and inverting Carroll’s work. The books present a darker, less surreal fantasy—one which did not amuse some Carroll enthusiasts.
