Reprieve for Hemingway’s Cats

Hemingway collected polydactyl cats, 50 of which still reside at his home/museum. The USDA says they are exhibits and should be caged, but the city disagrees, and for now the cats roam free…at least until the cat behavior experts can get their slice of the pie. Give me a break.

I can see Hemingway’s obsession with these unique cats. I’ve always owned a polydactyl cat…at one point a collection of them. My latest can actually use his ‘thumb’, which makes things interesting for the mice.
God save us from the experts, though. I mean do they really need someone to assess these cats’ behavior? I’m willing to bet that they behave just like cats. And I’m sure that putting them in cages will just improve their lot immensely.

Whatever is best for the cats!

Cats rule!

Yes they do, don't they?...and they know it, too.
But I've never met one yet who enjoyed being caged up.

Animals don’t belong in a cage.
But I do hope these cats don’t wander and hunt.
Are they contained? Cats have a habit of making more unwanted cats who are left to suffer and starve, I hurt for these animals.
Cats are also a threat to local native animals, it’s only natural to hunt and a cat doesn’t know the difference between an endangered species and a suitable feed.
