Like Seafood?

Here’s one for the pescetarians among us. Hmmm, maybe I should distribute this locally…the only way anyone cooks fish around here is pan fried in tons of pork fat. My cholesterol goes up just thinking about it.

I usualy bake mine whole..
I stuff it with onion, lemon and tomatoe slices cover it in butter, if I have honey on hand I use this too in the butter, wrap it in tin foil with more slices of lemon etc around it so that it doesnt stick, and wait.
best for snapper.

That sounds soooo yummy. Don't know if I've ever had snapper. There's a lot of cod here...cod fillets, cod cheeks, cod tongues, cod roe (britches). This last they cook and eat right in the sack...*gag*...and traditionally fried in pork fat, of course. Baked is a nice change.

smoked cod is the best.

Your sure hard up for good seafood in Canada..lol..I get to brag here, I live in a sea town here, the fishing is a big tourist draw.

Naw, we've got plenty of fish, it's just that cod is the traditional dish here on the island...they're (we're, I should say) very attached to it, especially salt cod (ick!). It goes so far that to become an honorary Newfie you have to kiss one!

Fishing is the main industry here, too, and for many, many years that's all the people had to eat, so cod rules. When I go out, I order halibut. LOL And oh how I adore smoked herring! Can't eat it in the house though...get driven out by my partner on account of the smell...says it curls his nose hairs!
