Science Fiction Blog: SF Signal

A while ago I posted a few links to some of my favorite "reading" blogs. Been a while, so here's another. SF Signal covers science fiction in all it's forms. The bloggers have a daily "SF Tidbits" post, which is a collection of links and a little commentary on science fiction. They also post "Tube Bits" on SF television, occasional SF reviews, and other SF related commentary.

Classics Good, Blog Reviews Bad

Pulitzer Prize winning critic, Michael Dirda, makes a good argument for reading the classics, including the lesser known ones. While he’s at it, he makes an argument for taking bloggers who dabble in his trade with a grain of salt.

Wordsy Podcast: Hans interviews Bookgasm

Hans interviews Rod Lott, the guy behind Bookgasm. It's no secret that Bookgasm is one of my favorite blogs, and this is one of my favorite interviews. (Plus, Rod sent me a free book.)

What Cheesy Reads

CheesyGiraffe reads a lot of cheesy books: Cameron Dean, Jeff Lindsay, Charlie Huston, etc. As she notes on the blog, it's not a review site. She mostly posts 1 to 5 sentences on each book she reads. I've been following it for months, even though these aren't the kinds of books I read. It's just neat watching someone take such delight in reading for fun.

"Covers" is instantly one of my favorite book blogs

I just ran into this blog today, and already I love it. One of those where I have to read everything in it. The premise: Covers is dedicated to the appreciation of book cover design. They pick a book cover, and blog about it.

Bookgasm

Bookgasm is a blog that highlights "guilty pleasure" reading. It covers thrillers, science fiction, mysteries, and graphic novels. It's a little heavy on the graphic novels for me, but it does a great job of highlighting great but not #1 best selling authors. They have a number of bloggers, so there's usually a post or two a day; enough to keep anyone who reads any of those genres intrigued.

Fantasy Book Critic

I figured I would start throwing up a few of my favorite reading-related blogs for other people to find. Fantasy Book Critic has mostly fantasy books with the occasional s.f and horror thrown in. Usually there's an author interview for each book and quite a few book giveaways as well.
