Many theories have sprung up about the cause of Edgar Allan Poe’s death since the writer’s demise, and now there’s another to add to the mix. The new evidence comes from the ‘shrunken brain’ found in Poe’s skull when is body was exhumed.

A 92 year old former historian desperate to preserve the historic burial site of Edgar Allan Poe says he created the legend of the mysterious, black-garbed gravesite visitor. If true, the mischievous ploy seems to have worked, though it’s sad to see the demise of such an intriguing legend.
