Michael Ondaatje and M.G. Vassanji, both previous winners of the Giller Prize, have once again been nominated for the honor. Elizabeth Hay, Daniel Poliquin and Alissa York are also vying for the $40,000 award. The winner will be announced November 6th.

The fifteen nominees for the year's best work of fiction include Richard Wright, M.G. Vassanji and one of my favorite authors, Michael Ondaatje. They’re vying for one of the most sought after prizes on the Canadian literature scene.
