Rowling Says Potter Encyclopedia Infringes Copyright

The owner of the Harry Potter Lexicon fan site is publishing an unofficial encyclopedic companion to the Harry Potter series based on the site and bearing the site’s name. Rowling is suing the publisher. She reserves the right to publish such a book herself. The publisher is undaunted, and the book will appear as scheduled.

Rowling Sues Community Group

J.K. Rowling, Bloomsbury and Warner Brothers, have launched court action against a community group in India who created a life-sized Hogwarts castle. The display was to be part of a Hindu religious festival. The group says it had no idea that permission from the author was required.
