Imagine that an obviously informed reporter is telling Australian readers that the Japanese are showing spunk by resisting whale huggers of the world. Really? He should try and read Moby Dick and get into Melville's fevered mind about the slaughter of the whale because it is. Enviormentalist should get in the picture what with the whale helping them to keep the CO2 level down.

CD-Rom available in book like edition learning to speak like the Dutch. Actually where do people get the idea that they can learn to speak a language simply by listening to a cd. Books and years of study and one is never on the level of a native born speaker, but , if like me you happen to have become a Herman Melville devotee, every inkling into the people that he wrote about helps to see him.

Dutch Influence in America

The New Netherlands or all that country from Canada to Delaware were under the control of the Dutch according to this article published in 1921. Actually without a historical background, storied like Herman Melville's Moby Dick are almost meaningless.
