Figured I would pimp the Stranger's new books page. They hired a books editor a few months ago and now collect all their book reviews, blog postings, as well as recommended book readings in one place. Awesome resource for the reader in America's #1 most literate city (we want a recount, Minneapolis).

Poetry for the Homeless

Toronto is giving poetry readings for the homeless. Funded by Canada Council for the Arts, the aim of the reading series is to bring “culture to a segment of society without the means to attend concerts or other ticketed events.” The event was open to the public, but the Queen and Bathurst area is not exactly an inviting neighbourhood. Interesting idea, though.
