Out of the approximately 800 entries for the 2008 Willesden Herald Prize, apparently not one of the short stories was fit to receive the award. Although shortlisted authors were notified of their success, the panel decided in the end to wait until something better turns up. Needless to say, not everyone is happy with this decision, as the comments here reveal.
