Someday I'll want to read books electronically. That day is not today. The device is not this stupid one.

Ugly Device. Read on twitter 'hey Bezos, 1987 called. They want their style back"

I'm not OK with this Kindle thing. I just posted about it yesterday:

Love Hans' quote... although I think they should rename it the 'iWTF?'

Ebooks are great. Portable ebook readers are even greater.

Just because Kindle is a over-priced piece of s***, doesn't mean ebook readers are a bad idea. They save trees, they save the climate as well (hopefully) and they save your back. Once we have decent ebook readers, life will be much simpler for students who have to carry huge tomes back and fro. Doctors and nurses can look up drug descriptions and check symptoms against databases instantly using an ebook or PDA. Some already do but it's far from common.

Changes happen, whether you like them or not.

Such a device is definately going to take off. The Sony one came out first and is better, better looking, and cheaper. The iPhone has some promise, even if the screen is weensy and better suited to multimedia than reading.

It's best to ignore this one, I think. I don't see it as being all that important in the march of time. Remember that Amazon hyped the Segway as well, so don't take the hype as being anything remotely real.
