Books are among the most re-used items out there. Over a books life-span, perhaps a dozen and even up to several hundred read the same copy. That's fairly environmentally decent.

I'm keen on environmental issues--as I thnk most people are these days--and although books are hugely recycled, I wonder if it would make a bigger difference if we changed the printing methods. As usual, it's the cost that prevents positive change.
I wonder, too, if someone was going to publish my book on glossy, acid-filled paper, would I be able to say no because of the environmental thing?
I suppose we could have used the title 'not safe for anyone' many times already, but I thought it would be especially pertinent here because in this show Richard and Hans illustrate the many situations in which the C-word is perfectly appropriate.
