Books are coming pre-signed by the authors now, and it’s disturbing to book signing junkies. “I am a compulsive author-reading attendee, an obsessive reader and fan. People like me are the reason publishers send authors on book tours” says Emily Grosvenor, who sees a signed book as a memento of having met the author and a pre-signed book as a souvenir of something that never happened.
